Visa Direct Puts USDC Prefunding Into Production Through Inyo Global
Visa has moved the first of its Visa Direct stablecoin pilots into commercial use. The October 15 announcement lets eligible businesses prefund their cross-border payouts with USDC in near real time, instead of waiting on bank funding windows. Inyo Global, a Visa Direct processor, is the first company running it live.
The headline says pilots, plural. The detail is narrower.
What actually went live
Visa ran two stablecoin pilots on Visa Direct in 2025. The first, unveiled at Sibos in September, let businesses fund Visa Direct with stablecoins; Visa treated those balances as cash on account and paid out in local currency. The second came two months later at Web Summit in Lisbon and sent payouts straight into recipients’ stablecoin wallets, pitched at creators, freelancers and gig workers.
Visa Launches Validator Node on Tempo Blockchain Network
Visa has officially launched a validator node on the Tempo network, marking a significant step in the payments giant’s push into blockchain infrastructure. Tempo, a purpose-built Layer-1 blockchain designed for agentic commerce and real-time payments, now counts Visa, Stripe, and Zodia Custody by Standard Chartered among its first external validators.
The validator node was configured and managed entirely in-house by Visa following six months of joint engineering work with Tempo’s team. Rather than relying on third-party operators, Visa integrated its secure infrastructure directly into the Tempo network — positioning itself as an anchor validator during this initial phase of network growth.
